The band of rain that has brought showers throughout the day is moving off however the clouds will stick around the rest of the day. Looking ahead, Saturday will bring partly cloudy skies in the morning with pop-up showers or non-severe thunderstorms late in the day. Highs will stick around 5C below normal. Sunday will be a little warmer with a lesser chance of rain (about 30% chance). In the long range, most weather models have warm weather moving in by the weekend of June 4th, this also translates to a better chance of seeing severe storms with a possible system passing through.

Typhoon Songda, a category 5 typhoon, is spinning in the Northwestern Pacific dangerously close to the Phillipines. It's now aimed towards Taiwan and the islands of Okinawa, Japan (just north-east of Taiwan). It is expected that the storm makes landfall as a catergory 2-3 typhoon.
